Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Motiff Pictures collects and uses personal data when you visit motiff.bg or contact us. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act.

1. Who we are

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to. For any privacy question, write to office@motiff.bg.

2. What data we collect and why

2.1 When you contact us

If you use the contact form on our website or email us, we receive your name, email address, the content of your message and anything else you choose to tell us (for example, details about a project).

  • Purpose: to answer your enquiry, discuss a potential project, prepare an offer and keep in touch about it.
  • Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to business correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Retention: up to 2 years after our last communication. If the enquiry leads to a contract, related records are kept for as long as required by Bulgarian accounting and tax law.

Messages sent through the form are delivered to our email inbox and a copy is stored in our website’s administration panel, which only authorised staff can access.

2.2 Website analytics (only with your consent)

If you click Accept in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website, for example which pages are viewed, how long visits last, how people arrive at the site, and the type of device and browser used. Google Analytics uses cookies and pseudonymous identifiers. It derives an approximate location (country/city) from your IP address but does not store the IP address itself.

  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you click Decline, Google Analytics is not loaded.
  • Retention: analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account, and no longer than 14 months.
  • Withdrawing consent: you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences button at the bottom of the page.

We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies, and we do not use analytics data to identify you personally.

2.3 Technical data (server logs)

When you visit the website, the server automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time of the request. Our hosting infrastructure may also use a short-lived security cookie to tell real visitors from automated bots.

  • Purpose: to deliver the website, keep it secure and investigate errors or abuse.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Retention: logs are kept for a limited period under our hosting provider’s standard log rotation and are then deleted.

2.4 Embedded videos (YouTube)

Our project pages show videos hosted on YouTube, a service of Google. We embed them in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When a video plays, your browser connects to YouTube, which receives your IP address and may store cookies or similar data on your device. Google’s own Privacy Policy applies to that processing.

2.5 Links to other websites

Our website links to external sites such as YouTube, IMDb and Google Maps. These links do not send any data until you click them. Once you leave our site, the other site’s privacy policy applies.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its data on our behalf;
  • Our email service provider, which handles messages sent to office@motiff.bg;
  • Google Ireland Limited, for Google Analytics (only if you consent) and YouTube video playback;
  • Professional advisers (such as accountants or lawyers) when necessary, and public authorities when the law requires it.

Service providers act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.

4. Transfers outside the EU

Google may process data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and transfers are also covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict how we use your data;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email office@motiff.bg. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian supervisory authority: Commission for Personal Data Protection, 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., 1592 Sofia, www.cpdp.bg. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

6. Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we do not profile visitors.

7. Children

Our website is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Security

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to submitted data is limited to authorised staff. No online transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website or legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this page, with the date of the latest update at the top.
